Its versatility means it also makes an excellent container plant.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChaemerops humilis seeds are very hard and roughly pea-sized (see last photo) with a long viability (up to several years) if stored correctly. They germinate readily in about 4 to 6 weeks if kept at a moderate temperature at around 20 to 25 degrees (for example, in a hot water cupboard).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis variety has green foliage to begin with, but as the seedlings mature the characteristic silvery blue color of this variety begins to dominate, more so with exposure to heat and sunlight.
