This specialized variant represents a distinct adaptation of the southern purple pitcher plant (S. purpurea subsp. venosa), having evolved to thrive in the unique conditions of mountain seepage bogs. Distinguished by its specialized alpine bog habitat and distinctive morphological characteristics, this species offers collectors an exceptional opportunity to cultivate a geographically and ecologically significant carnivorous plant with limited natural distribution.

Skill Level: Easy.

From: Greenville, South Carolina, USA.

Light: Min 3 hours direct sun, max all day.

Water: Fill tray, keep in water at all times.

Dormancy: New leaves stop forming during the colder months and old leaves will slowly die off.

Pot Size 15cm (2L).

Please note some Sarracenia are very large in size and leaves will have to be bent or cut down to fit in smaller boxes.
