Atemoya 'African Pride' Grafted Seedling

Atemoya is a hybrid of the cherimoya and the sugar apple. It blends the good flavour of the cherimoya with the sugar apples creamy texture and intense sweetness. Unlike the sugar apple, Atemoya can fruit readily outdoors in much of New Zealand without the need to be in a greenhouse.

We have grafted this African Pride Atemoya on to a cherimoya seedling for increased cold hardiness. Still, we recommend planting this in your warmest position to maximise fruiting. These plants have already been flowering but we recommend you knock the fruit off for the next couple years, or until established.
