The Metallic Palm (Chamaedorea metallica) is a really interesting member of the Chamaedorea species. It remains relatively small and compact and is quite slow growing but has beautiful fishtail-like leaves that have a distinct blue-green (metallic) look to them. Will grow well outdoors in the shade but actually makes a terrific indoor houseplant too because it is tough as nails and very tolerant of imperfect conditions, it seems to thrive on neglect!
