Chives Garlic (200 seeds)

Flat-leafed perennial herb with a mild garlic-onion flavour, used fresh in stir-fries, soups, dumplings, or as a garnish. Produces white star-shaped flowers that are also edible and great for bees. Thrives in sun or part shade and prefers moist, rich soil. Cut often to extend harvest and prevent flowering. Use fresh or chop and freeze for later. Excellent in borders or pots. Sow in early spring or autumn. Sow 6 mm deep, 10–15 cm apart, in fertile, well-drained soil. Keep soil damp. Germinates in 10–14 days. Thin to 10 cm. Divide clumps every 2–3 years.
