Originating from the Basilicata region of southern Italy and brought to the United States in 1887 by the Nardello family, this variety has been treasured for generations for its thin-walled, richly flavoured pods. Jimmy Nardello is considered one of the finest frying peppers in the world — the pods collapse beautifully in the pan, developing a rich, caramelised sweetness.

Vigorous, productive plants yield heavily in warm, sunny conditions with fertile, well-drained soil. An outstanding variety for fresh eating, frying, or roasting.
