Mango 'Kent' Seedling

Kent is a great variety of mango originating from Florida, USA. It is sweet, has a good flavour and minimal fibre. Not to be confused with the poor quality Tommy Atkins mangoes you find at the supermarket often coming from Peru or Mexico.

We grow Thai, Indian and Australian mangoes - out of all of them the Kent seedlings seem to be the strongest and most vigorous.

There are various mangoes fruiting throughout the North Island and the trees will grow well in frost-free or protected areas. They grow slower than they do in the tropics but will fruit eventually given the flowers can be covered or protected until fruit sets.

Seedlings may not grow true to type but are usually very similar.
