Description
Description
Moro blood orange is an attractive tree with beautifully flavoured fruit. The medium sized fruit hang in clusters and when ripe the rind has a vibrant bright red blush. The Moro fruit has an intense flavour and deep red coloured flesh. It is the most colourful of the three blood oranges available in NZ.
Moro is the earliest of the blood oranges to ripen, starting around July but the tree takes longer to reach maturity than other varieties, typically 4-5 years. The fruit, which has few to no seeds, holds for a long time on the tree but it can develop an off flavour if held for too long.
Moro blood oranges tolerate some frost, but it is recommended to protect from heavy frosts and strong winds. Fertilise once or twice a year with citrus-specific fertilizer.
Our Garden Range Moro has sold out for 2025. Order now for 2026. Other sizes still available.
