स्नेकवुड पेड़<br> <i>सेक्रोपिया पेल्टाटा</i>

Cecropia glaziovii is a rainforest tree that can be found from southern Mexico down to Brazil. They are colonizing trees and can be very fast growing in the right conditions. For this reason they are considered an invasive pest in many tropical regions. They are known as the Trumpet tree, the Mexican bean tree and the Snakewood tree, because of the stilt-like roots it forms as it matures. These roots will eventually run and bulge under lawn in a snake-like fashion.

The fruit is eaten raw, with a sweet and jelly-like flesh (some people call it 'Gummy Worm' Fruit'). Medicinally, it is used against liver ailments, dropsy, hypertension, kidney infections, heart conditions, Bright's disease, back pain, ulcers, wounds, cuts, and asthma among others.
