Healthy, well-established young plant available. Attalea cohune is a tropical palm valued for its large, arching, feather-like fronds and substantial, architectural presence as it matures. While relatively slow-growing in its early stages, it develops into an impressive feature specimen over time. It is also quite uncommon in New Zealand, making it a great choice for collectors or those looking for something distinctive.
In New Zealand conditions, it is best suited to warm, frost-free environments such as Northland or very sheltered areas of Auckland, particularly in coastal locations. As a tropical species, it is sensitive to cold, so a protected microclimate or some winter protection is recommended, especially while the plant is young. It can also be grown successfully as an indoor palm provided it receives adequate light and warmth, or maintained in a container and moved under cover during cooler months.
This is still a juvenile plant with plenty of growth potential ahead.
