Hylocereus megalanthus is the highly sought-after self-pollinating Yellow Dragon Fruit or Pitaya variety (yellow skin - white flesh) that many claim is the best eating of all the varieties. Not just sweeter and juicier than others, but this nutrient-packed fruit offers a lovely floral taste not found in other varieties. Quite rare in NZ.
