Bismarck Palm ~ 4 years old

Healthy young Bismarck palm in a tall planter bag. This is around 4 years old, 50 to 70 cm tall including the bag, and has completed the transition from producing juvenile strap leaves to producing fan leaves with their characteristic silvery greenish-blue color complete with a purple tinge.

Only a few available at this size.

General description: Bismarckia nobilis
One of the world's most stunning palms! Very hard to find these in NZ.

Bismarckia nobilis is native to Madagascar and is a warm temperate to tropical palm which needs plenty of space and full sun. Although it is a warm climate palm, it will also tolerate drought and light frost when well established. It is also quite resistant to pests and disease and can handle a wide range of soil types so long as they are well drained.

In good conditions Bismarckia grows fairly quickly into a large and stunning tree but will also look amazing in a large pot. Its bold form and startling silver-blue foliage make for great visual impact. In seedlings and young plants, the leaves are tinged with an unreal purple colour.
