For Licuala grandis, try to mimic the conditions of the rainforest as best you can. This means providing a humid environment, indirect light and temperatures that ideally don't fall below 15 degrees Celsius. Regular misting will help and/or siting it in a pebble tray for extra humidity. It wants acidic to neutral soils for optimal growth. During the winter months, the amount of water given can be much reduced, but the plant should not completely dry out in between.
