Narrow Leaf Bird of Paradise

Strelitzia juncea

The Narrow Leafed Bird of Paradise is special. It has bold structural flowers in orange and purple appearing like tropical birds on tall stems in summer. Fascinating narrow, cylindrical grey-green, rush-like foliage. When young they have small spoon-shaped leaves at the end but as the plant ages and matures these straighten out to become almost like a reed.  Prefers a sunny spot, however indoor plants should be slightly away from windows with direct sunlight to avoid burning. Drought and  light frost tolerant. Arguably most impressive when mass planted. The must-have landscaping plant of the moment. Mature size approx up to 1.2m x 1.2m.

2.3ltr nursery pot.
