肉桂樹<br><i>肉桂</i>

Cinnamon or the 'True Cinnamon Tree' (which distinguishes it from its doppelganger  Cassia) is the famous bushy evergreen tree whose bark, when dried gives us the fabulous and fabled spice. 

In NZ it will need a frost free location and is best not planted out until the tree is a but older and more robust. Fortunately, they quite well in pots. Unlike in their native Sri Lanka where their growth rate is incredible, here in NZ they will be slow but they do give the occasional burst of growth in the warmer months - which is quite exciting- but then they seem to slow right down again. 

A great plant for collectors of the weird and wonderful.
