Havana Cigar Plant

Super rare in NZ. This tropical Calathea is the largest-growing of the genus with huge paddle-like leaves that are the quintessential tropical foliage. Not impossible to grow in warmer parts of NZ it is nevertheless very cold-sensitive and frost intolerant, and so should arguably only be tried outside by adventurous growers with plenty of experience with sensitive tropicals. For the rest of us, this beauty should be considered as an indoor container plant. Where it will be much easier to grow and will be a showstopper!
