Description
Description
Often called a lime due to its highly acidic lime tasting juice, Rangpur is actually a cross between a citron and a mandarin. Rangpur fruit turn a beautiful vibrant orange when ripe, adding a pop of colour to your cooking, fruit bowl and your garden. The rind is thin and knobbly, packing a powerful aroma reminiscent of tangerines and lemons. Rangpur flesh is juicy and very tart, with a complex flavour profile combining the sour tang of lime with the taste of mandarins. Rangpur fruit make fantastic marmalade.
Water rangpur trees regularly, especially during hot summer months, but avoid overwatering, as it can damage the roots. Fertilise with a citrus-specific feed twice a year, once in spring and again in mid-summer. Prune your rangpur tree lightly for shaping and to remove any diseased or damaged branches. Rangpur lime trees benefit from extra protection during harsh frosts and extreme wind.
