Sarracenia flava var. rugelii - American Pitcher Plant

Sarracenia flava var. rugelii, also referred to as the cutthroat pitcher plant, is recognizable by its unique blood red throat blotch. This area of the pitcher contains a high concentration of nectar glands, making it an attractive target for insects looking for food. This strategic location is strategically placed above the pitcher plant's mouth, functioning as a clever enticement.

• Skill Level: Easy.
• Light: Min 3 hours direct sun, max all day.
• Water: Fill tray, keep in water at all times.
• Dormancy: New leaves stop forming during the colder months and old leaves will slowly die off.
• Potted Option: Pot Size 15cm (2L).
• Bare Root Option: Leaves will be trimmed and roots wrapped in sphagnum for cheaper shipping.

Please note Sarracenia are very large and leaves will have to be bent or cut down to fit in a box. Larger orders are larger boxes. If you need your plant to arrive at full height please message me after ordering to discuss larger box costs. Leaves grow quickly so you don't need to worry about losing some.
