This particular strain of purpurea ssp. purpurea originates from Ontario's Marl Bogs, an environment distinguished by elevated calcium carbonate and mineral content that creates alkaline soil conditions. Please note some Sarracenia are very large in size and leaves will have to be bent or cut down to fit in smaller boxes. Leaves grow quickly so you don't need to worry about losing some.
