SEED - Sarracenia flava var. atropurpurea - American Pitcher Plant - 10+ Per Packet

Sarracenia flava var. atropurpurea boasts stunning colour from all perspectives. Its entire pitcher transforms into a deep orange-red hue, from the exterior to the mouth and even the lid. In full sun, the lid secretes abundant nectar, effectively attracting and capturing insects without fail. To retain its vibrant appearance, this plant requires a minimum of 10 hours of direct sunlight daily.

Sowing instructions:

• Sow on top of growing media, either peat of sphagnum can be used.
• Ensure good airflow too prevent mould growing on the surface of the media.
• Keep pot in bright lights to full sun.
• Once you have sowed the seed place the pot in a zip-lock bag in the fridge for 3 months to simulate winter to ensure best germination results.
• If the pot is ready before spring ensure the pot stays warm (like in the house) through Autumn and Winter to ensure you don't lose your seedling before they establish themselves as plants.
• Keep the pot standing in water at all times so the seed/seedling don't dry out.
• Harvested 2025
