Description
The Vainiglia Pink Orange tree is a native of Italy. When ripe the Vainiglia Pink Orange has a vibrant pink blush on the rind and a slight yielding to the touch. Inside the fruit you find juicy, tender flesh that's a stunning shade of pinkish orange. Vainiglia Pink orange is medium-sized, typically reaching around 5-7cm in diameter.
Unlike most oranges, the fruit of the Vainiglia Pink Orange tree boasts a complete lack of acidity and has a subtle melon-like undertone to its sweetness. Some people love the flavour, others don't. Some of the adults in family are fans of more tangy oranges, but the are a hit with the children. The
The Vainiglia Pink tree is beautiful. In early spring it is covered with fragrant white blossoms. The air is filled with the sweet scent of citrus and a hint of vanilla. As the fruit ripens the pink blush of the fruit looks stunning amongst the green leaves.
Vainiglia Pink thrives in warm, sunny locations with well-drained soil. Protection from strong winds and harsh frost is recommended, especially during its early years. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, but avoid overwatering. Aim for moist, not soggy, soil. Prune lightly in late winter to maintain shape and encourage air circulation. Vainiglia Pink is perfect for smaller gardens or container growing on patios and balconies.
