Description
Description
75–80 days. This large, pointed yellow tomatillo has a rich sweet-tart flavour, often compared to a blend of paste tomato and husk cherry. Fruit can reach up to 10 cm long and is excellent for salsa, roasting, or eating fresh like an apple. The plant produces pale green husks that dry to a buff colour. A rare heirloom from Malinalco, Mexico. Once the husk is removed, the golden skin is fully revealed.
Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost; transplant outdoors after the threat of frost has passed. For best results, plant more than one for cross-pollination.
