King Sago | Cycas revoluta in Terracota Pot 10ltr

Introduce a piece of prehistoric elegance to your space with the King Sago (Cycas revoluta). This is not a true palm but a cycad, an ancient group of plants that thrived alongside the dinosaurs. Its architectural form, with a stout, shaggy trunk and a symmetrical crown of glossy, dark green fronds, brings structured, timeless beauty that is both bold and low-maintenance.

PROFILE:

· Botanical Name: Cycas revoluta.

· Common Names: King Sago, Sago Palm, Japanese Sago Palm.

· Origin: Southern Japan.

· Mature Size: Very slow-growing. Indoors, it typically reaches 3-6 ft tall over many years, but can eventually grow much larger outdoors over decades.

Key Care Requirements:

· Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sun but harsh light may scorch the leaves. It is also tolerant of lower light conditions.

· Water: Low water needs. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering and poor drainage are the most common causes of failure, leading to root rot.

· Humidity & Temperature: Adapts to average household humidity. Prefers warm temperatures between 65°F - 75°F (18°C - 24°C). It is moderately cold-hardy but should be protected from frost.

· Soil: Requires a very well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus/succulent blend or a standard mix amended with sand or perlite.

· Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly during the spring and summer growing season.

Why You'll Love It:

· Ancient Statement: Its "living fossil" status and sculptural form make it a unique, conversation-starting centerpiece.

· Extremely Slow Growth: Perfect as a long-term indoor specimen that won't outgrow its space quickly.

· Drought Tolerant: Its water-storing trunk makes it resilient and perfect for forgetful waterers.

· Architectural Form: Provides a strong, vertical element and lush, tropical texture that complements both modern and traditional decor.

Styling Tip: Its bold, structural shape allows it to stand alone as a stunning focal point in a bright corner, entryway, or patio container.

Embrace a legacy of resilience. Grow a prehistoric icon.
